Remember that massive open setting I was working on in Unreal Engine? It is a gray void.
Well, actually, it is on hold and its replacement is a gray void. It turns out that the same day I posted about it I had to remove 16GB of RAM from my desktop (long story), and now I have to scale the dreams back until I can afford to replace that RAM stick.
So, rather than building the REALLY BIG map, that 32 GB of RAM had no trouble with, I am starting a new build of just the Southpoint Lighthouse area to be kinder to my poor PC that has half the power it had just a couple of days ago.
We will get back to the insanity by the end of the year, but until then I will, instead, share progress and how-to stuff from a much less ambitious proof of concept scale map that is a small portion of what the larger one will be.
Same kind of stuff, but on a more reasonable scale.
