The Drones, who are without a shadow of a doubt "The Greatest Band of the 21st Century" (note - I WILL fight you on this), are temporarily reuniting for 2 shows only as part of a fundraiser in Melbourne. Who wants to go?

Took @umackDublin and @foggynotions almost 8 years, but I did call it. The fucking Nostradamus of punk rock. Last night, The Jesus Lizard brought the fire and brimstone to a manic Button Factory crowd. Shithousery of epic proportions. Yow forever.

Hey @umackDublin you’re probably already in final negotiations to bring the reformed Jesus Lizard to Dublin, right?

RIP Phil Lesh, a legend for so much including his hilariously honest testimony during a Jerry Garcia estate hearing in 1996.

RIP Phil Lesh, the cerebral, avant-garde, post-Beat genius who took the Dead's sound far beyond psych-blues and folk into weird empyrean realms of free jazz & classical. He could play the bass like a heartbeat or a tidal wave, searching for new but timeless sounds eternally.

If you haven't read Phil's memoir, now is the time. Perhaps the book that best captures the essence of the Dead's creative vision, and how much he tried to infuse the spirit of Miles and Coltrane into their sound.

Crushed by the news that Phil Lesh has passed. One of the all-time greatest bass players and just a true original in every possible way. Smuggled so much weirdness and originality into the heart of American culture. But his tone is immortal. Nothing hits like a Phil bomb. RIP.

Bob Dylan on Phil Lesh: “one of the most skilled bassists you’ll ever hear in subtlety and invention… A postmodern jazz musical rock and roll dynamo.” RIP Phil ~ Fare Thee Well 🥀

Terrible news: the great Phil Lesh, one of the founding members of the Grateful Dead, died today at the age of 84.
