After over a year of uncertainty for Kilmar Abrego Garcia and his family, the unjust criminal charges against our @smartunionworks brother have been dropped!
We applaud this win for due process. We’ll keep fighting against attacks on our union family and their rights.
A federal judge dismissed the criminal case against Kilmar Abrego Garcia, “ruling that the Trump administration had brought human trafficking charges against him as part of a vindictive effort to punish him for challenging his wrongful deportation to El Salvador last year.” (NYT)

It’s still National Apprenticeship Week, and I kicked off my morning at the @EASCarpenters Open House, seeing firsthand what real workforce development looks like in action. 🔨
It is always an honor to be in spaces that are creating real opportunities and opening doors for our residents.
Special shoutout to Bob Landy and Layla Bibi for their leadership and commitment to building the next generation of skilled workers!
May Day is historic. For hundreds of years, it has been a day for organized labor and the working class to stand together and show our solidarity. Here in Pennsylvania, we’re preparing to once again make history. Workers are ready to take a stand against Donald Trump and his billionaire allies, who are determined to crush working people. We know a better PA is possible, and we need you to help make it happen.

This morning, it was an honor to attend our Union Experience Fair at Swenson Arts & Technology High School.
The fair brought together our students and industry professionals to educate, connect, and open doors to Registered Apprenticeship Programs and meaningful career pathways.
I was especially proud to meet some of the educators who are directly benefiting from our budget allocation covering CTE teaching credentials, an investment in both our teachers and our students’ futures.
Thank you to Superintendent Dr. Watlington, Swenson Principal Judy Haughton, the @PhillyAFLCIO and all of our labor family for showing up and pouring into our young people at Swenson!

Rising costs are making it harder for working families to pay the bills. But it’s not just that — stagnant wages are preventing workers from getting ahead.
Thank you, @CongBoyle, for highlighting the dual cost-of-living crisis working people are facing in this economy.
