I’m excited to share that I’ve joined @gryps_finance as Co-founder and CEO. Something we've already been working on behind the scenes for quite some time along with our great partners @DefiZoo_ @orbs_network @symm_io and @SeiNetwork including the SEI Development Foundation. Gryps is building a high-performance perpetuals DEX on SEI, designed from the ground up for professional and institutional traders. The focus is simple: execution quality, predictable risk, and market structure that actually works at scale. What drew me to Gryps wasn’t marketing or narratives, but the underlying design choices. An RFQ-based execution model, no pooled liquidity, and an emphasis on real depth and low latency reflect how serious markets operate, not how dashboards look. On-chain derivatives are entering a new phase. The next wave won’t be defined by incentives or hype, but by infrastructure that can support real trading activity under stress. That’s the problem Gryps is solving. Looking forward to building alongside a strong team and contributing to the @SeiNetwork ecosystem as we push toward launch. More to come.

Gryps Perps Ultra Release Notes Product update: a few sharp fixes are going live shortly across the trade panel, position lifecycle, and tooltips. Trade panel improvements: • The intermittent “Price can’t be zero” error that used to flash in and out is fixed. The trade panel now holds onto your last-known mark price across short feed drops instead of flipping to zero, and on a fresh cold-load, when the price genuinely hasn’t arrived yet, the button shows “Loading market price...” instead of an error that reads like you did something wrong. Position lifecycle: • Pending positions no longer show a wildly-wrong uPNL while they’re filling. Previously a position that would actually open down 4-10% briefly displayed as down 30-40% because the math was running against your slippage ceiling, not the real fill. Now the uPNL column shows a placeholder, “Settling” or “—”, until the on-chain fill lands, and the real uPNL appears once the position is actually open. Tooltips: • Info-circle tooltips no longer get stuck on screen. They now dismiss reliably when their trigger unmounts, such as when switching positions in the details panel or conditional rows disappearing, and you can also click anywhere on the page to dismiss any open tooltip as an escape hatch.

Crazy!
This is actually unreal🤯 A guy just recovered 5 BTC ($400k) that had been locked in his wallet for 11 years. Back in 2015 he got high, changed the password, and forgot it by morning. The coins sat there untouched ever since. He tried 3.5 trillion brute force combinations. Paid recovery services. Nothing worked. He gave up. Yesterday he uploaded his entire old college hard drive to Claude as a hail mary. Claude dug through the files, found an older backup wallet, figured out the encryption format, and cracked it on the first try. $400,000. Recovered by an AI chat.

Proud to see this go live with @Voltrade_xyz. Gryps is built around a simple belief: better intelligence should translate into better decisions in-market. This competition is a chance for sharp traders to prove exactly that. Registration is open. May 13. Make it count.

Self-custody matters. But institutions are not moving size on ideology alone. Execution quality is the real bottleneck. If a $10M order leaks intent before fill, widens spread impact, or relies on non-firm liquidity, the trade is already compromised. That is why the next phase of on-chain market structure is not just about who holds the keys. It is about whether DeFi can deliver institutional-grade execution standards without sacrificing settlement guarantees. Private intents. Competitive solver networks. Firm executable quotes. Non-custodial settlement. That combination is where on-chain derivatives start becoming operationally credible for serious flow, not just accessible. We explored this in our latest Gryps Research piece.
Self-custody solves one major problem in DeFi: control of funds. But for institutional flow, custody alone is not enough. Large orders need execution quality too: - reduced pre-trade intent leakage - competitive pricing from professional solvers - firm quotes instead of soft indications - on-chain settlement without compromising execution standards Our latest Gryps Research piece explores why self-custody should be treated as the baseline, not the whole pitch, and how private intents, solver competition, and firm quotes can help make on-chain perpetual trading operationally credible for serious flow. Insane we have to live like this because of these zero talent frauds who for some reason most of this state will vote for no matter what they do? What good have any of them done? Please tell me.

Gryps has a refreshed website design! The new surface is sharper, clearer, and closer to what we are building: private RFQ execution for on-chain perpetuals, with firm solver quotes and non-custodial settlement. Take a look: gryps.finance

Aave service providers have been leading the DeFi United effort to restore rsETH's backing since the April 18 incident. We believe ecosystem collaboration matters most in moments like this, and our priority is achieving the strongest possible available outcome for users. Multiple strong indicative commitments are now in place to join this effort toward restoring the backing of rsETH. This includes @LidoFinance, whose contributors have published a proposal today to their DAO to participate in the joint recovery effort. Lido is one of many partners who are stepping up. We will continue to announce further commitments as they are formalized.
A proposal for Lido DAO to contribute to @aave’s coordinated rsETH relief effort has landed on the Research Forum following this week’s Kelp's rsETH LayerZero bridge exploit. The proposal authorizes a one-time, capped contribution of up to 2,500 stETH to a dedicated relief vehicle, solely as part of a fully funded recovery package. The proposal is designed to reduce broader ecosystem spillover and support an orderly resolution for affected users. DeFi United. Read more below: research.lido.fi/t/lido-dao-…
