As some of you already know, my other huge passion, alongside Japan and MMA, is the New York Knicks.
I’d love to say I’ve been a lifelong Knicks fan, but for obvious reasons, that's just not the case. Being Italian, I wasn't always into American sports; I discovered this world as an adult and started following and supporting the Knicks about 20 years ago. But the passion hit me so hard that in 2012, for our honeymoon, my wife and I traveled to the States so we could finally see the Knicks play live.
For a few years, I was even part of a Knicks podcast, co-hosted with some Italian fan friends. We’ve had a group chat going for I don't even know how many years now, and they've been rooting for the Knicks way longer than I have. I love you guys, we actually did it.
Even though I haven't been a fan since day one, these twenty years were more than enough to make me fall madly in love with this sport and this franchise, through all the ups and downs (mostly downs, to be honest), the joy, the suffering, the anger, and the heartbreak.
Actually, let's be real: these last two decades have been brutal for Knicks fans. Before these past few years, it was just constant disappointment, a few fleeting playoff appearances, a couple of decent regular seasons, and nothing more.
Finally, all of that has paid off in the most beautiful way possible. The first NBA Championship in FIFTY-THREE YEARS!
And the best part is that this championship-winning team is made up of guys who truly deserved it. Never a word out of line, always composed both on and off the court. Brunson, our captain, taking a pay cut to give the team the cap space needed to sign the right pieces and make this title run. It's truly a group of guys you just can't help but love.
I think I’m just rambling at this point. Just a bunch of disconnected, senseless thoughts. 😅 I honestly haven't fully processed what just happened yet. But it’s all so incredibly beautiful.
One last thing. Always and forever: GO NEW YORK GO!

5:30 AM here in Italy. I can't scream, everyone's sleeping, but all the emotions are right there.
Love y'all.
