Be on the lookout for magical butterfly wings we are installing this summer at select Port Huron Parks! Once finished, these butterfly wings will stand about 6 feet tall. Flutter over to these photo ops at Sanborn, 16th St. and Pine Grove Parks later this summer!

Paid parking at Lakeside and Lighthouse Beaches for the summer season starts today, May 21, 2026. Seasonal beach parking passes may be purchased at the parking booths upon arrival. City of Port Huron residents may receive a free season pass. porthuronrec.com/beach

The Palmer Park outdoor ice rink is ready for open skate and hockey! ⛸️ 🏒 A rink at Lincoln Park is coming soon too! BYO skates or borrow ours at the Palmer Park Rec Center on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Palmer Park is located at 2829 Armour St. in Port Huron.

Registration for the Recreation Department's winter programming starts this week! Residents of the City of Port Huron may register starting tomorrow, Jan. 8 at 8 a.m. and nonresidents and township partners may register starting Friday, Jan. 9 at 8 a.m.! 😀

The Parks and Rec Departments will be temporarily closed for the holidays from Wednesday, Dec. 23 at 12:30 p.m. to Thursday, Jan. 1. Normal business hours will resume at 8 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, 2026. From all the staff at Parks and Rec, have a safe and fun holiday season!

The courts are calling! Play on these new, outdoor pickleball courts at Sanborn Park while it's still warm. Located in the northwest corner of Sanborn Park, these courts are free for the public to use. Thank you Michigan Department of Natural Resources Trust Fund grant!

The pickleball courts at Sanborn Park are finally beginning to take shape! Twelve outdoor courts will be available this fall for public play. These courts were possible from the support of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Trust Fund grant.

After an eventful summer, the Port Huron Rec Department is using the first week of September to refresh and update our facilities. To ensure we’re ready for an even better season ahead, the Palmer Park Rec Center will be temporarily closed from Sept. 1 to Sept. 5.
