There is a new advisory warning us that drinking alcohol may increase the risk of getting some kinds of cancer.
We could update warning labels on alcoholic beverages to let people know about this risk.
While we may not remember many of the warning messages from our drinking days, it can't hurt to add this one - it might be the one that helps someone choose a healthier path.
NEW: Today, I’m releasing a Surgeon General’s Advisory on the causal link between alcohol consumption and increased cancer risk. Alcohol is the 3rd leading preventable cause of cancer in the U.S., contributing to about 100,000 cancer cases and 20,000 cancer deaths each year.
