Junior high school season is in the books! This spring I hit many of my personal goals, batting .492 w/ 31 hits, 5 HR, 22 RBI, and an OPS of 1.402. The FCIAC is a tough league but Staples Softball played with heart and battled every game. I love how close we are and how much fun we have as a team! Presence is the part of the 'swing' nobody trains. When you walk up to the plate.. Are people saying "oh, the pitchers in trouble here" Or do they see your presence and think "he's got no chance" Hitters spend all waking hours on their swing and zero time on how they carry themselves in the box. Or on deck. Or walking up to the plate. Train how you carry your bat walking up to the plate. Train how you have that slight 'good luck' stare down at the pitcher. Train how you give off 'you better not miss' vibes to the pitcher. Pitchers read it. Coaches read it. Your family reads it. You step in unsure with your head down and you've told them how the at-bat goes before the first pitch. The ones who own the box aren't faking it. They know their plan, they trust their swing, and it shows. Go watch your own video, Go train it. What a week! In last week’s stretch⚡️ 70 hits⚡️ 75 runs⚡️ 12 HR 💣 five batters hit over .500 on the week. And we celebrated our Senior Grace Ely who delivered a .688 BA, 2.637 OPS, 5 HR💣 at the plate and 28 strikeouts in the ⭕️ over 12 IP with a .087 BAA. One week to go!✨
