Discovery is designed against small creators the cpm has gone close to 2$ and keeps going up not only is it hard to get any exposure on new games now its even impossible if you want to spend money to receive exposure the system just favours big creators😭@FNCreate @HaroldAtEpic

Hey @FNCreate, We need to talk about this... "The Follow Creator button will be removed from the Developer Profile Link device on June 25." This is a major blow to creators who are still trying to grow their audience. Since Follow Creator, Discover has actively surfaced content from followed creators. Meanwhile, favoriting maps has never provided comparable visibility, despite individual maps often having significantly more favorites than creators have followers. So what is the plan here? If the Follow button is being removed, are there plans to make favoriting a map more meaningful? Will players who favorite an experience receive more visibility into updates and new content from that creator? From a creator perspective, it's difficult to understand the logic behind removing one of the few audience growth tools. Would love to understand the reasoning behind this change and what the plan is for creator discovery and audience retention.
🚨 Fortnite v41.00: Everything Creators Need to Know Before Updating Epic just published the v41.00 Known Issues and Pre-Release notes. I appreciate that Epic is trying to improve discovery, but what am I really supposed to extract data wise from my new release..."New #10" only giving 64 impressions? If the previous 50k was hard to reach with more maps and fewer players, why not just decrease it by 5-10k instead?

I understand Epic Games’ point, but I also think that if they want UEFN to keep growing, there needs to be different map styles and therefore different target audiences. I’m sure cinematic thumbnails can work, but mainly for a specific type of audience. Other map styles need different thumbnail styles. If a map is brainrot-style, a cinematic thumbnail would not fit. And if a map is competitive, a cartoon or childish thumbnail would not make sense either. I think creators should keep the freedom to choose the thumbnail style depending on the type of map they are making.

These stats are from today. 🚨 Current situation of New Tab Discovery. The same maps have been sitting at #1, #2, and #3 for 3 days straight while other maps are getting barely 10 minutes on the New Tab. There was even a Creative 1.0 map at #3 while a well-made Brainrot map was sitting at #13. Question: Among these maps, which one do you think actually has the higher sophistication score? You Can Still Say And Keep Asking Your Self: "What Have You been doing wrong" "You Have To Make Better Maps" “You need to improve your maps” “Make better thumbnails” “Your map needs more sophistication” But meanwhile the system itself keeps pulling genuine creators down. Stop Thinking its your fault. At some point, it’s not always the creators that need improvement the system also needs improvement. One month later, and this is easily one of the worst changes we’ve experienced 🙃 They even recently removed collections for Tycoon, Roleplay, etc., that included New/Top Rated/Popular tabs and replaced them with what we already have in Discover... idk why

Epic just made a HUGE (bad) change to Discovery? - No more Trending, Top Rated… - New & Updated are now at the bottom Some really important categories for new map releases just disappeared, not sure what the goal is here... we already have Browse/Collections for that

🚨 You Just Have to Dump Your Map and Make a New One What choice do creators have rather than dumping their map and making a new one? Even when a map reaches "New" Tab, it often only gets around 3K impressions. After that, there’s nowhere else to go: * You can’t return to New Tab * You’ll likely never reach "Updated" Tab without active players * Updating your map feels pointless because visibility is gone Serious question: what motivation do new creators have to keep updating or improving their maps if there’s no visibility path afterward? If your map gets into New Tab → you have only 1 chance. If your map does NOT get into New Tab → your map effectively dies immediately, you got 0 chance. So what option do creators have besides abandoning their maps and making new ones repeatedly? The system unintentionally encourages creators to dump projects instead of supporting and improving them long term. @HaroldAtEpic , I hope you understand where genuine small creators are coming from. Please listen to the concerns many of us are facing right now. A huge number of creators I know have spent 2 months and 100 hours developing maps, yet their islands never appeared in the New Discovery tab at all. That instantly leads to zero visibility and almost no impressions. The serious question is: How is a new creator supposed to get players if their map never reaches the New Discovery tab? When we study the maps appearing in "Updated" tab, most are from already established creators with large followings and existing active player bases. Those creators can naturally generate engagement without needing Discovery exposure. The “new maps are finding more success under the new Discover changes” This statement mainly applies to creators who already have reach and uploading new maps not brand new creators or smaller accounts without followers. For smaller creators, the system currently feels like this: If your map gets into New Tab → you have only 1 chance. If your map does NOT get into New Tab → your map effectively dies immediately you got 0 chance. Right now, these are the biggest problems creators are facing: 1. New Tab appears bugged or inconsistent Maps with months of development and huge effort are simply not appearing there at all. 2. Updated Tab currently favors already active maps The Updated tab seems to prioritize maps with existing active players, even when some of those maps haven’t been updated in months. Meanwhile, genuinely updated maps from small creators receive no visibility. The Updated tab should prioritize: *Actual recent updates *Freshly updated gameplay/content *Quality improvements not just maps that already have active players. 3. The previous Discover system gave every map a chance Under the older system, most new maps at least received some visibility every 4–5 days. That system felt much fairer for new creators. A better solution would be reverting to that style while improving filters to remove duplicate or low effort maps. we are addressing this because we already have seen a better system where a new and small creator can get a good map in the fortnite ecosystem without any outer support. 4. Map moderation AI is causing major problems Many creators are receiving bans, failed moderation, or demonetization because of AI moderation mistakes. This is becoming a serious issue for developers spending months on projects. Please don’t come to conclusions about the Discover changes based only on internal data. Please interact more directly with creators and the community. A feedback system asking creators about their actual Discover experience would help a lot. Create A Poll Asking Weather we like the changes or not. Looking forward to these questions being addressed on the 27th: 1. How are you planning to fix the New Discovery tab? 2. Will there be changes to the Updated tab so new creators don’t only get 0–1 chances at visibility? 3. Will there be more tabs such as: Weekly Picks Top Rated Weekly New Maps of the Week Hidden Gems 4. What are the actual parameters for appearing in New Tab? Does development time or effort matter? 5. Can there be a stronger community connection with small and new creators instead of feedback mostly coming from already established developers?
