A lot of gamers play games to relax and disconnect from the world- including their financial stresses. When you add financialisation to games, they don't like this. Most crypto games, esp those from 2020 are focused heavily on profits, earning money, and so on.
Although many crypto games (including ours) have realised this and built games which are fun and offer NFTs as an avenue to ownership rather than price speculation, there is still work to be done to change the mindset of the masses.

How Dropt uses @aavegotchi wearables in-game. It's a tight rope to walk between investor satisfaction and pay to win. Our novel approach seeks to appease both investors and gamers alike. we always go back to the core gameplay loop. with each design direction we ask: does this strengthen the loop? if not, we do not include it in the game!

I had a super zen @BossBattleOG episode with @theoliverspoon, talking about @playdropt, the upcoming 1-3 player roguelike from the Aavagotchi squad!
Love the answer from Oliver who went into depth about keeping a simple and easy to understand loop that doesn't take away from the experience.
Not layering on unnecessary things that create too much lift helps keep their roadmap on point.
Stay tuned we may have a Noodle Bowl to try out this browser-based banger !

Blockchain will become increasingly relevant as IPs strengthen. Think classic Mario game cartridges as NFTs. They would sell for thousands.
The strong IPs of today are minting future collectibles that will be worth huge money.
Being able to own your game forever to collect and resell later is a hugely under-appreciated value prop.
