One thing to watch with AI is to see which side of the blade people fall on; "tell AI" vs "ask AI" when it comes to programming, and probably a lot of other things. I've felt that warm bath of letting AI decide but I can see it'll eventually cook you and leave you worse off.

With Autodesk Eagle now EOL, it makes me very happy that I still own a valid licence of v7.7 ( last before it was acquired by Autodesk). Still use it almost every day. One day I'll move to KiCad I suppose but for now Eagle still does the job well.

When you spend a week optimising your graphics drawing pipeline because you can barely get 20fps in HD screen with the new copper-layers feature, only to find that in the end it was your nVidia GFX driver at fault and now you can do 50~60fps @ 4K with everything turned on :-o

I should note, that's on a 2GB nVidia T400 card, so pretty low-end now.

FlexBV6 says "I think we need a bigger GFX card!" My poor nVidia T400 really doesn't care much for these absoutely massive circuit board design files.
Very nice to enabling copper/trace layers for Teboview, GenCAD, KiCAD, Eagle, EasyEDAPro, XZZ PCB and more to come!

Sadly my beloved DELL Ultrasharp 2722D's died due to liquid damage which while I was able to get another 18 months out of, finally died.
Looking one of these to replace the pair but that's a high price premium ($1200 for another pair of 27US's or $2400 )

Even after ~20 iterations, I still find something to tweak in each subsequent PCB ordering. This time I shifted one cap about 2mm to one side so as to make it easier to rework the tiny DFN controller if the reflow isn't perfect.

Just noticed with the Apple iPad Pro 3's with their translating feature, it's not too dissimilar to the Babelfish in THGTTG :-o They even look similar!

I wonder at times if a higher-tier paid AI programming engine isn't being intentionally forgetful about finishing a task in order to push your token consumption up.

3~4 week AI usage followup; handy for 1-shot jobs with specific task constraints & you get everything right 1st time around (or 2nd). If you have to iterate more than 3 times it seems like you're better off just starting again. Lack of long context is painful. Stuff falls off.

Additionally, it's so much nicer than having to ask at places like StackOverflow, discord, or anywhere else where humans are present. You get answers that you're seeking without the Spanish Inquisition.

FlexBV 5.3xxx series is out. Whole new schematic viewer, deep signed & notarised macOS binaries, new licence management system.
Done faster than I imagined because Gemini AI was like having all of StackOverflow and forums' knowledge without the egos.

I'm a convert. The time arrived for me to create a new schematic/pdf viewer and with Gemini I was able to get it done in about a day and a half complete with all my special requirements; additionally I've since refactored a lot of my build scripts and code to be cleaner/faster.
