I wondered how @signalapp makes money. Turns out Signal is a 501c3 nonprofit and takes donations. Happy I didn't learn that they sell my data. So I gave some $.

Such a good Olympics! Curry, team, and General James (how you can still spend your life hating this man after this, I don't know). Scheffler making me tear up. Biles. Noah. Ledecky. Woman's basketball team. Excited for 2028!

Here are two neat little git speedups that apparently came with Git 2.23 that I didn't notice `git switch <branch>` and `git restore <file>` that are super handy! buff.ly/3FCsolH

Completely impressed with the full digital experience of @TheMasters: app, website, UX, instant streaming, integrated visual aids -- all of it. A new bar has been set. It's hard to pull this off; devs and team working on this one should be proud.

Noticed misspelled road signage on I69. Not a big deal, but had an urge to fix it. Easy contacting @INDOT, they shared updates at every step, and even asked for process feedback. Exceeded my expectations in every way. Special thanks to Serena Lanam! 🙏Your gov can work for you.

Just did a maiden flight of the @SkydioHQ drone I got for my birthday last year and just now received. Well worth the wait. Feels like the Tesla of drones; the ease of use, autonomy, and collision avoidance is incredible.

Seeing projects like this reminds me: 1) just how far software defined radio has come 2) how open source makes things like this available to regular folks. Easily decoding satellite signals on your computer; never would have thought possible 10 years ago: github.com/daniestevez/gr-sa…

A feel good @nytimes article about my hometown meteorologist @Jeff14News at @14News. Working remotely the past 5 years myself, I can relate to those awkward on-camera moments; it's impressive when people can roll with it and make it something endearing. nytimes.com/2020/05/03/busin…

A good blog post by Signal explaining the pending EARN IT bill in Congress that aims to backdoor your encrypted private conversations: signal.org/blog/earn-it/ Full stop, it's not possible to create a safe backdoor that should only be used by the party mandating it.

Another batch for a friend who works at an outpatient facility for those with addictions. I imagine they are very high risk for relapse during this time and need her more than ever. #coronavirus #masks #covid #corona2020 #StayHome #StayHomeSaveLives #HelpingOthers #HelpFromHome

Here's what ~140 3D printed surgical mask clips looks like. We printed around the clock all weekend, but didn't quite hit the 200 goal. @libs331 delivered them to Deaconess yesterday, and we just got a request to print 100 more! Sounds like they're getting used!

The hospitals in town said they were running low on masks, so my wife sewed a bunch. Then I saw pics on reddit showing how hard it is wearing masks for hours, so I made a 3D printed clip to help. The hospital asked for 200 more! Here's the project: github.com/pmotch/surgical-m…

If you're in Evansville and you like High Score Saloon, right now they're doing a 24 hour retro gaming stream on Twitch to raise tips for the crew that works there. There's a few hours left! twitch.tv/highscoresaloon

Assembled the @Prusa3D i3 MK3S kit. Took ~16 hrs. Prints perfectly! A difficult, but rewarding experience.
