Ned said it best…
Thank you infinity to Ned and May Pat, and to all our new Circle members joining this week!
In the peak heat of the summer, Heft’s AC died 48 hrs before the opening of our group show. The morning of the show, we got it back up and running, but the height of the ceilings meant we couldn’t get it cold enough before everyone showed. As bodies poured in, it got progressively hotter until it felt sweltering. But still, not only did people come, but they stayed…to the point that the gallery was full and we spilled out onto the street. It was incredible, probably my favorite moment of Heft so far because it proved that Heft wasn’t just “another gallery in NYC.”
Heft has helped shine a light on 50 exceptional artists over the past 12 months, had 5 pieces acquired by major museums, and represented the gallery and digital art movement at large at 4 international fairs. I’m incredibly proud of the programs that Adam and the team have put forward over the last year.
But the financial realities of running a gallery are, well, very real. We need help, which is why today, we launch Heft Circle. Details on the program in the quoted thread.
I am not putting any pressure on you to mint this, we’re not looking for charity. The reason to mint is that you think what we’re doing is valuable. The reason to mint is you think places like Heft are important to continuing the growth of artists and collectors in our little corner of the art world. If you can swing it, minting one or more Heft Circles will help us continue our programming, and make more inroads with new collectors both in NYC and throughout the world.
If you do decide to mint, thank you. If you decide to mint 3, thank you x3 and we’ll give you a 4th to gift one to someone special.
Thanks for considering Heft, I’m incredibly excited about what we have in store this year!
