5 standout films from the 2025 SXSW Film & TV Festival @sxsw 5. Bunny Bunny throws its audience headfirst into the chaotic, overstuffed world of a New York tenement building where doors never seem to close, and peace is an abstract concept. (1/6)

1. Satisfaction Satisfaction is an exercise in restraint – a meditation on power dynamics, unspoken control, and the reclamation of self. But what elevates this picture is Emma Laird’s performance, a career-best turn that cements her as a rising star. #satisfactionfilm (5/6)

THE TRUE BEAUTY OF BEING BITTEN BY A TICK isn’t for everyone. Its slow-burn pacing, deliberate absurdism, and refusal to commit to a singular tone will frustrate some. But if you appreciate indie horror, collaborative filmmaking, and pushing creativity it’s a must-watch. 4/4

Satisfaction is bold and refuses to shy away from discomfort. It forces its audience to sit with discomfort  – an act that, in itself, is an invitation to confront our own silences. There are still two more screenings at SXSW. Get out there and watch it. (4/4)

It stars Emma Laird, and if you haven't heard of her, there's a pretty good chance you will soon. Laird garnered some attention in The Brutalist, but this is her coming-out party. She fully embodies Lola, delivering a performance that is as powerful as they come. (3/4)
