These German Shepherd puppies are the newest recruits to Cumbria Police Dog Section and are following in the paw-prints of their dad, PD Ben!
We look forward to seeing them progress through their training 🐕
🎄🔟 We’re now into double digits and bringing double the fun, TPD Otis and his brother, TPD Wilson.
The pair are German Shorthaired Pointers, a breed we’ve not had on the section for a few years!
We’re excited for their careers and seeing them progress from puppies to PDs.

🎄9️⃣ PD Brock
👉 Brock passed his General Purpose course back in October.
GP dogs are some of the most versatile on the section, with skills including tracking suspects, searching for missing people and locating missing property.
🎄8️⃣ Introducing TPD Nala
Nala is one of our newest dogs on the section and will be starting her course in 2026 to become one of our specialist search dogs
She looks pretty happy to be a part of the team and we are equally as happy to have her!
🎄7️⃣ PD Ben
🐕 Ben is one of our General Purpose dogs and has been on the section for over a year now.
He has also recently took on another role… becoming a dad to a litter of pups!

She is one of our newest recruits on the dog section and will be starting her General Purpose course in the New Year.
Until then, she’s perfecting her festive skills… including removing Santa hats at speed 🎅

Jovi works as one of our drugs, cash and firearms detection dogs. What could take humans hours to search, dogs like Jovi can often locate in minutes.

3️⃣ Day three introduces PD Milo and PD Astra.
They recently had job trials for Santa’s reindeers.. Luckily for us they decided turn down the job offer and keep their PD titles 😅

2️⃣ Today we have TPD Otto, who turns one today 🥳
Otto will start his initial course in 2026 to be one of our General Purpose dogs

Harley is putting her paws up after a dedicated career working alongside her sister, RPD Sansa, as one of our Victim Recovery and Forensic Evidence Search dogs.

On Sat (1 Nov) PD Drake will be retiring and we want to wish him a long and happy retirement
Drake is a Drugs, Cash and Firearms detection dog, and also a Passive Search dog
His handler described him as a super dog to have as his shift partner, with amazing enthusiasm in his work
