We've published two illustrated maps & guides to East Sussex, covering Brighton to Eastbourne & Hastings. They show railway lines & stations, lanes recommended for cycling and art & cultural attractions x.com/pentopapershop/status/… Also a print of both combined. Of interest?

Sometimes someone brings an amazing product into the shop and we buy some on the spot. The East Sussex Art & Culture Map & Guide covers Brighton to Eastbourne and is aimed at cyclists and walkers. Thank you ⁦@afreehour⁩ ⁦@benjamindraws⁩ ⁦@pool_press

Andrew Carnegie covered most of the costs of building the Ewart Library, Dumfries, Scotland. An example of the 2,500 Carnegie Libraries built globally to promote education. An estimated 800 survive as libraries.

My colleagues & I have taken a huge gamble to set up @thenerve_news. We’re trying to build a new independent publication from the ground up. Social media is our only distribution for now. Sharing this article in your networks would make a huge difference. Thank you! 🙏🙏🙏
NEW: The British politician, his Russian intelligence handler & a Kremlin plot against the US & Ukraine. My new piece about Nathan Gill and Nigel Farage for @thenerve_news in which we ask: Why, even now, is no-one asking questions?

In 1935, a peculiar Austrian forester made a claim that seemed impossible: He could make water flow uphill without any external power source. Scientists called him a fraud. The Nazi regime tried to weaponize his discoveries. Today, modern physics is proving he was right about almost everything. This is the story of Viktor Schauberger, the "Water Wizard" who saw what everyone else missed:

Thanks! Yes, that was a great campaign - I've spoken to some of the participants. And yes, coincidentally this summer I visited Birling Gap and learned that the Frank Newbould print is based on a downland view nearby! :)

Walking to Pentre Ifan from the car park, we spotted a large bluestone (dolerite) next to the path. Cool to the touch - almost metallic - it "rang" unexpectedly when I struck it. Might this resonance have been part of its allure for Neolithic folk? gem-a.com/stonehenge-preseli…

Could the Nevern estuary be where large bluestones from nearby Mynydd Preseli were loaded onto barges & floated to the Severn estuary, then along the River Avon to Salisbury Plain (near Melksham?) in about 2,500BC? Seems plausible.. bradshawfoundation.com/news/….

At the magnificent Pentre Ifan burial chamber in West Wales. Made of local bluestones, the 16 tonne capstone is improbably perched on the points of three standing stones. The capstone's angle mirrors the slope and it points towards the Nevern estuary flickr.com/photos/160501528@…

Normally I wouldn't write about something as mundane as riding a bicycle the 6 miles from Lewes to Newhaven. But yesterday's ride - at the back of a "peloton" of about 20 riders headed by @Chris_Boardman en route to Paris was a joy #MiddleAgedManInLinenriding1985ClaudButler
