The more I look at Jesus, the more I see his perfection. The more I see his perfection, the more I see my sin. The more I see my sin, the more I see his grace. The more I see his grace, the more I want to look at Jesus.

I’m reminded today that you don’t have to dread the horrible if, in the horrible, you find Jesus. And you can find Him and you will find Him if you seek Him—even and especially in the horrible.
“You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.”
Jeremiah 29:13 ESV
The horrible has a way of getting us to the ‘with all your heart’ place.
And when you seek, and when you find, you can even be grateful for the horrible because without it, how sure are you that you would ever seek with all your heart?
Jesus is worth going through the horrible.
I’m still here, just tired and spending my time in the Word and in prayer. Love to you all and God bless 🙏❤️🤗🕊️

Friday Prayer:
Father, in Jesus name and by Holy Spirit -
Thank You for your birth, life, suffering, death, burial, and resurrection. Thank you for Your promise to come again.
Thank You for the Holy Spirit that seals me unto redemption.
Holy Spirit, work in me to seek and access more of You. Thank You for bringing me back to You over and over & each day.
Your Holy Word says that You have given me a Spirit, not of fear-but of power, love, & self discipline. Not by “self,” but by Your power. Help me access all You have for me today that You may be glorified.
LORD, I can know that I brought nothing into the world and can take nothing out of it. I can know You control all, and own everything… and yet still struggle, strive & suffer operating on my own and opposite of what I know. Forgive me & help me to You and Your way today.
Help all suffering in any way.
Draw more to You.
Use me and all that is Yours how You want this day. Remove all fear that comes from the delusion that I am carrying anything. You have it all, control it all and know the outcome. My selfishness & discontent are all born out of this delusion that I control anything or carry anything at all. Yes, there are tasks. I can’t just pray and sit.
I am praying for wisdom and help to do the next right thing. So take me to it.
Bless all here & all who need this journal prayer for themselves.
I love You…help me realize in a powerful way how much You love me and others. I want to walk in Your love today in every way.

Can we all help this dog rescue?
🆘SOS. SOS. 🆘
I feel helpless.
I feel defeated.
Rescue feels like a constant catch-22 sometimes.
If you aren’t actively rescuing new dogs, people stop donating because they think nothing is happening. But when you are struggling just to meet the needs of the animals already in your care, how do you responsibly continue to say yes?
How do you pull more dogs when you are worried about food, bills, flooding, vet care, and making sure the animals already here continue to receive the quality care they deserve?
That is the part people don’t always see.
Rescue is not just pulling a dog from a shelter.
It is every single day after that.
It is the feeding.
The medications.
The behavioral work.
The cleaning.
The vet visits.
The sleepless nights.
The worrying about what happens if donations stop coming in.
And for us, these animals are not temporary. Many are sanctuary dogs. Last chance dogs. Dogs that truly have nowhere else to go.
So while rescues all over the country are closing, we are sitting here terrified because closing is not really an option for us. What happens to the animals if we fail?
I don’t have the answer right now. I just know we are trying our absolute hardest to keep going.

I fell in love with the benediction Zechariah gives in Luke 1 last night, specifically these verses:
“because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
Luke 1:78-79 ESV
I love that Jesus is our sunrise. 🌅 It makes me think about this verse:
“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.”
Revelation 22:16 ESV
And this one too.
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV
The sun shines on the merciful and the unmerciful. In that is a mercy. Take His mercy as the gift it is, but don’t take it for granted.
