The framing of "Do teachers want more pension or more pay?" is completely backwards.
Teachers want to be rewarded fairly for the difficult job they do. They want fair pay, and they want to defer some of their earnings so they can live a dignified retirement (a fair pension).
What they don't want is CEOs on in excess of ยฃ250k a year, running trusts with reserves in excess of ยฃ50m giving them the choice between hardship now or hardship in retirement.
Let's call it for what it is: a flagrant attempt to undermine teachers' terms and conditions that will undermine the pension for the entire profession.
