A6: Time. Finding the time to bring kids up to speed on the basics of coding so they can start using it as a tool. I had students learn Python using CM's BT and then did many "think alouds" before they were solving problems on their own.#CMChat#CSChat#MTBOS
#CMChat Q6: What is your biggest stumbling block to using coding in the math classroom?
Please use the standard Q6 & A6 #TwitterChat format when replying! #CMChat#CsChat#MTBOS
A5: I did this with my class. It's fun and many problems take just a few lines of code. Kids love learning how to make the computer do their work. Also, teaching someone (the computer) makes students look at the problem in a deeper way. #CMChat#CSChat#MTBOS
A4: I think this is a perfect application of coding. Coding and programming spreadsheets are made for this purpose. It's really an important skill that they'll benefit from long after the class is over. #CMChat#CSChat#MTBOS

Dartmouth STEM Girl alumna headed to Caltech! Jadelynn is going to take it easy and major in computer science & mechanical engineering. Sheās brilliant and a generous volunteer at DMS throughout her HS years. #soproud#dmseagles#usdlearns
The science circle in my MakerSpace class is researching and creating a project to answer a question about ants. This is one of the most adorable (is that possible for ants?!), creative, and informative student projects. And I love the dash of humor too. #usdlearns#dmseagles
My stds just concluded a series of product development and business model workshops with @NextFlexUS In the end, the groups presented to our shark tank panel. Lots of interesting products. Thanks NextFlex! #usdlearns#dmseagles
Yesterday I took some of my Advisory students on a hike at Quicksilver. So great to finally connect with them outside of Zoom and to take in all this beauty together! Ms. Brown and a couple of parents joined in too! #dmseagles#usdlearns
Dartmouth's top 15 Math Club students are about to participate in the 2021 MathCounts Chapter Competition. They're excited and nervous, but happy to be playing. #MATHCOUNTS21#dmseagles#usdlearns
Our JV Math Club is run by four 8th grade returning Math Club students. I turn off my audio/video for the meetings, and the coaches are made co-hosts, and off they go. The students are learning a lot of math with a good amount of laughs along the way. #usdlearns#dmslearns
Here's some of the stellar posters my students created for our Technology Research Project. They picked an object, researched its history and evolution, and then designed an original poster(slide) about the object. #usdlearns#dmseagles
