Who said you can’t get better at golf by listening to advice on Twitter?
Shot an 89 today, best score of the season.
Long post about how I used twitter to improve my golf game, hole by hole notes attached👇
4 things I’ve taken from here to improve my game:
1) Staying loose yet quick with my swing. I posted about over swinging, people posted some really good advice.
I implemented one thing in today’s round: take a deep breath before each shot and lose tension in my arms.
Resulted in my best ball striking to date. I was able to control my low point much better.
2) Last 3 rounds, I’ve been averaging 9 less putts per round than the previous 3 rounds.
Saw a post about not using the line on the ball, and not lining up with the sight line on the putter. Have not been taking practice strokes
Have been putting purely off feel, using the same routine for every putt. This has tremendously helped my putting.
3) What impact position “feels” like. I had a call with
@drakesmith__ where we discussed impact.
He compared it to feeling like a low to high lacrosse shot. I immediately knew what that felt like and I’ve been much better with hitting closer to the center of the face.
4) Course strategy has been much smarter. Have been using
@preroundgolf to plan out shots for the course.
Made me realize I was relying on driver too much and hitting too many balls OB.
To really convince myself, I’ve been hitting each tee shot with 5 wood. My scores have only gotten better.
