This past weekend, @jhrnews was proud to take part in @PressForward_ca’s Future of Independent Media Summit in Ottawa – a vital conversation about how we can move from crisis management toward sustainable growth in the journalism sector. JHR President @Rachel_Pulfer joined fellow media leaders to discuss how public policy, capacity building and innovation can work together to strengthen independent journalism. Drawing on JHR’s global experience, she highlighted the need for both supply-side support -- through training, grants and accelerators -- and demand-side strategies to combat disinformation and foster greater media literacy. Events like these remind us that independent journalism in Canada has a future -- and it’s being built right now by dedicated, creative and collaborative media professionals across the country.
