“Thank you for holding, I’ve had a chat with my colleague and explained what’s been going on, he should be able to help you, okay? I’ll just transfer you now…”
One of three things will now happen:
1. You’re transferred to someone who has no idea who you are or what you’ve just been talking about for the last twenty minutes. They say, “I’m not sure why you’ve been put through to me”
2. You’re put on hold and then eventually an automated voice tells you to “listen carefully to the following options…”
3. The line goes dead.
