With the federal government ending the public health emergency, people on Medicaid will soon have to renew their eligibility. Here is what you need to know about renewing your coverage or finding other coverage. Go to healthcare.gov for more.
ALT Starting April 2023, state agencies will send out letters to renew Medicaid eligibility. This process will take about a year. Make sure your address is up to date with your state Medicaid office. If you get one, complete your renewal form – Fill out the form and return it right away to help avoid a gap in your Medicaid or CHIP coverage.
ALT What happens if you no longer qualify for Medicaid or CHIP coverage?
ALT States will open a Special Enrollment Period that will allow you to purchase a health plan on individual health insurance marketplace (Obamacare) where lots of families access affordable comprehensive health insurance. Many qualify for subsidies to help them cover the cost of their premiums and in some cases their out of pocket expenses such as deductibles.
