America,
Please read and SHARE my response to "Republican" member of the Fake News,
@marcthiessen.
Marc just penned an anti-Trump column mentioning my work. Marx straddles his time between the Washington Post and Fox News.
And as you can see below - he is clueless and biased on the topics on which he reports.
DEAR MARC,
You sit on the board of Radio Free Europe (RFE) and have a personal stake in this, so it is completely unethical and highly inappropriate to use your position to opine on this. But you did.
You need to correct this article regarding VOA's coverage the day the US bombed Iran - we were on the air quickly, and we covered President
@realDonaldTrump's address to the world with live simultaneous translation into Farsi. We continued non-stop coverage during the 12-Day War. Meanwhile, your (RFE's) Radio Farda was doing the rough equivalent of nothing.
Nothing. Just like in October 2024, when Radio Farda's airwaves played music instead of covering Israel's airstrikes on Iran. I don't remember seeing your criticism back then.
Currently, as the Iranian people are taking to the streets in protest of the Islamic regime, we are providing expanded coverage. While this week your Radio Farda ran a 4-year-old video with false dubbed-over audio claiming it depicted the current scene on the ground in Iran. Misleading and dishonest—something you seem very comfortable with.
You called my strong leadership "chaotic"? Not surprising coming from a board member of one of the nonprofit grantees that bilks American taxpayers. The truth is I am working to ensure that every penny that comes through this agency is spent appropriately.
We are running a lean, mean operation, producing respectable coverage in the languages we serve while showing accountability to the American taxpayer.
Do you want to know what's chaotic? Radio Free Europe—where you are a board member—nearly hiring 20 assets from a hostile adversary before our agency stepped in and stopped them.
The hardworking American taxpayer funds this global news operation, and they deserve accountability - and coverage around the world that is not anti-American. I question the scruples of anyone (especially a so-called Republican) who works for the Washington Post and shows such journalistic malpractice by opining on a story when they have a personal stake in it, like you do at RFE.
I would appreciate a correction.
Sincerely,
Kari Lake
