Whenever somebody tells me "We don't need this Remake" about a game, it falls on deaf ears
because I agree, REMAKES ARE NEVER NEEDED
They are WANTED, might not be wanted by you or some people but the Game developers want them
Remakes exist because they're wanted not needed

FFXIV is my favorite, but IX is right up there at either #3 or #4.

I believe in letting people play the game by themselves and then if they want to go back and play the original, that’s on them.
FFVII Remake trilogy’s debate about “is it a remake or a sequel” is one of the worst talking points when discussing the game.

Even if you disagree about them being the -BEST-, they are definitely two of the most important. Only Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy can claim to be more important IMO.

If Final Fantasy Resonance signals remaking mobile gacha games as single player… FF7 Re-Remake (Ever Crisis) would be sick. Though personally, I’d prefer something with art direction a little closer to OG, maintaining the 90s grunge.

FF7 Remake series director Naoki Hamaguchi says the next game he makes will not be a remake!
"It’s not going to be a remake! As a team, I do think there’s an opportunity to work on a smaller scale, like a AA title, or a new Final Fantasy title or even a new AAA franchise. I think all those would be good."

Special mention to WOFF. Hiroki Chiba, the director, was one of the remaining OG’s in SE who developed the first 10 FF games. If anyone was gonna make a turn-based mainline FF, he was gonna be a key dev.

I don’t think the LARPers and their High Priests are necessarily wrong: SE should’ve just stuck to their guns and they’d probably be where Atlus is right now with the Zoomers.
But if you can’t handle FF at its pixeliest best, you don’t deserve them at their HD RTX best.

Some of the best things about modern Final Fantasy when when they let people who are fans of the games and are new to the series actually cook.
Naoki Yoshida had zero FF development cred before taking over FFXIV, but he had both a love of FF and an obsession with MMO’s.
