The 2026 OHL Draft is in the books, and the in-person format was a ton of fun. There’s a lot to unpack from this one, and I’ll have more thoughts and takeaways to share once I’ve had time to fully untangle it all.
History made in Kingston! A total of 301 players were selected in the 2026 #OHLDraft as the live in-person format returned! DETAILS 🗞️: tinyurl.com/dtp5ruxd

At 9th overall, Gordon Munro has the Niagara IceDogs selecting Toronto Jr. Canadiens forward Kash Kwajah. His high-end offensive skill set could bring plenty of excitement and creativity to the IceDogs' roster. 🔗 puckpreps.com/podcast/the-fi…

Making the move over to @GopherHockey next season, Evan Murr has one of the most well-rounded player cards you will find in the NCAA. Excellent metrics across the board, he manned a lot of responsiblity for Minnesota State last season, and outside of a lack of physicality and a high rate of turnovers, has shown the ability to contribute all over the ice.

Jet Kwajah is an offensive-minded defender who suited up for the @MadCapsHockey this season and took a nice step for himself from this year to last. A great puck mover with good reads, mobility, and offensive instincts, he was effective at getting play going the right direction with speed and precision. Kwajah is a name who we may see called in this years' #2026NHLDraft.

Packing on some size and strength, Cole Reschny had a nice freshman season with @UNDmhockey, being effective across the board and useful in a handful of situations. A smart puck manager who also has the skills to force turnovers, along with both score, and set up others. He contributed a little bit of everything, found the scoresheet consistently, and was valuable away from the puck. Reschny was the 18th overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft to the #Flames.

Although not "really" undervalued, Xavier Villeneuve has always been a big favourite of ours dating back to his AAA days with the @PghPensElite. He's always put up elite underlying numbers and has continued to do so in the @QMJHL with @ArmadaBLB. An incredibly smart, deceptive, mobile and fun defender to watch, some may be concerned by his sinze, but he has all the tools to be an impactful modern-day defenseman. Villeneuve will be heading to @TerrierHockey next season.

I got a good one. Post someone you think is really undervalued in this draft, that has a good card.

Ryan Seelinger ends out his @USHL career with the @bucshockey on a strong note with excellent scoring, and passing metrics, being the go-to offensive weapon on his team, he saw himself in control of the puck quite often and was very effective with the opportunities afforded to him. Strong in transition, he was able to be effective both off the rush, along with off the cycle. Seelinger is committed to @MiamiOH_Hockey.

Tyler Hopkins is a nice dual-threat offensive weapon who can be leaned upon to move the puck using his feet in transition. Processing the game and handling the puck at speeds, he is a valuable player to inject some pace into the lineup. His advanced-numbers suggest he should've scored more than he did this season, hinting at a potential big step coming here soon. Hopkins is a 3rd round selection of #LeafsForever from 2025.

Keaton Verhoeff had a very strong freshman season with @UNDmhockey - the 6'4 and 212 pound defender has great mobility, range, and speed to his game as he activates up ice and moves the puck. His mobility makes him rather suffocating, giving him the ability to execute quick stick checks to strip opponents of the puck. Verhoeff is another player who will be challenging for a very high draft spot in the #2026NHLDraft.

Carson Carels has really skyrocketed up #2026NHLDraft boards as of late - the two-way defender was a pivotal part of the @PGCougars blueline, displaying some elite scoring tools from atop the zone, along with a dynanism and skillset to move the puck in high presssure situations. Physically willing, he was engaged in battles and was able to land a high level of meaningful bodychecks to stop play. Carson Carels is another high-end player heading to the @UNDmhockey.

Alex Lofgren was a key part of the @FargoForce blueline this past season, delivering strong physical play, winning battles, and forcing turnovers, he was effective both in his own end along with on the offensive side of the puck. He did a nice job at getting pucks on net, along with setting up chances for others when working at even strength. Some underrated offensive numbers here for Lofgren. He will be heading to @GopherHockey next season.

Gavin McKenna is seen as the potential number-1 pick in the #2026NHLDraft, for @PennStateMHKY this season he was a dominant offensive weapon who made his teammates better wherever he played. With tremendous vision, passing skills, reads, and timing, he was arguably the best playmaker in the NCAA. The physical game lagged behind in terms of initiating contact, and there was some degree of perimeter play regarding his scoring locations. A very impressive season as a whole for one of the top prospects for this years' draft.

Garrett Lindberg is a talented two-way defender who has a great passing game to both shoot passes up the ice, and to set up teammates in transition. He'll take chances in the offensive zone to creep into scoring areas, another defender whose goal totals don't entirely reflect the degree of effectiveness he showed this season in the o-zone. Lindberg is yet another player we've gone over today heading to @UNDmhockey for next season.
