Happy news!
BREAKING: #CarmenMejia just walked free after 22 years of wrongful conviction in Texas. While she was exonerated on Monday, she was not immediately released due to an immigration hold. ICE announced that in light of the exoneration they would lift the detainer so that she could be released from local custody. "I never lost faith and hope — I never lost it in 22 years," she said. A very powerful, sad, and yet beautiful video showing the struggles that freedom can bring and the resilience of these exonerees. It's short - I highly recommend watching! Narrated by actor Joe Morton. Featuring Renay Lynch, Jabar Walker & Paul Hildwin @innocence #innocent

10 days to save #RobertRoberson
Because of his undiagnosed autism, Robert Roberson was seen as “cold” and “unemotional” instead of terrified and grieving. That misunderstanding helped send an innocent man to death row. Read more from @AutismTx: houstonchronicle.com/opinion…

The "medicolegal death investigation system" conducts death investigations & certifies cause & manner of unnatural & unexplained deaths. Women are especially prone to a wrongful conviction, as well as people on the autism spectrum. Like #RobertRoberson #WrongfulConvictionDay

14,770 YEARS - let that sink in. Today is #WrongfulConvictionDay and I'm asking that you think of those that have spent most of their adult lives in prison for a crime they did not commit. A wrongful conviction can happen to any one of us! @innocence

Please help save Mr. Roberson's life. Texas wants to execute this man for a crime that was not a crime at all. His daughter was ill, and when she tragically passed away, they blamed Mr. Roberson!
In 30 days, Texas plans to execute Robert Roberson despite new evidence proving his innocence. If carried out, Robert would be the 1st person in U.S. history executed under the discredited “shaken baby” theory. Your signature could be the turning point: bit.ly/48Qkdzj
