There are over 8,000 children in Scotland today needing a foster home, yours can & will make a difference. Go for it! Pick up that phone!
It is a life changing experience for your family & more so the children we care for, questions will be answered & training will be given!
It doesnt hurt to pick up the phone & find out more, myself & husband had many reservations but we lifted the phone & have never turned back
Please feel free to ask me any Qs that you may have about fostering with a young family as I have done it and Im still wearing the T-Shirt!
I started fostering when I was 21 and had a child of my own at 25, Im now 30 and he has grown upto be very understanding and caring child.
My son 5yr old enjoys going out for a chat with our worker, there is also a kids club and I meet other carers & their children most weeks.
there is always an ear at the end of the phone be it your own worker,scet(our out of hours),fostering network or another carer.
I have been fostering for almost 9yrs now and I have to say the best thing about fostering is giving our children a safe, loving home.
