In this day-long writing workshop Day Mattar (cheeky queer poet and co-founder of Queer Bodies poetry collective) will lead an exploration of political expression through poetry; a well established tradition throughout various social movements in history.
How might poetry mobilise a crowd or bring about real change? What is the best language to utilise in order to navigate the abstracts of our evolving identities? What symbols / images might we conjure to help us understand one another and express ourselves faithfully?
Come help us birth our beautiful anthology QUEER ICONS on Saturday 17th Sept. We’re such proud parents and feel so lucky to be reading alongside other stellar poets xoxo
