the unofficial World Cup theme song that was so good we thought it was the official one

this might be the most "brand focused, infused world cup" you'll witness (for an American hosted World Cup? What do you expect ??)
my notion as to why we haven't gotten theme songs close enough and as soulful as "Waving Flag" is because the event organisers are overly focused on branding that they do not consult the right fit to compose these songs the "soul" in the music is amiss, you can't feel or see it.
now they're trying to force that "dai dai" down our throats. It's been onomatopoeia ... from "hiyya hiyya" to "dai dai. ".. would've just made it a rap or rock theme song.
too concerned about branding, that's why they keep consulting A-list or overly successful artistes (again, the soul is amiss),
find one struggling artist, give him a theme song contract, and see what he will do π€£

stopped midway watching this new mortal kombat. To be honest, I was expecting them to overcompensate with the storyline - you know how plotwriting in 2026 is always highly aspirational and fails,
but somehow, the plot just stuck to traditional kugfu/NINJA lore, and it JUST WORKED!
it's like telling the audience ...yes we know you know the storyline, but just allow us do our thing because we just really want a life-action adaptation of the game series you grew up playing just because we want to and can .
