How do we price constitutional violations?
This is historic… for the first time we shall have mass compensation of victims of police brutality ✅…
…but 2B spread over 2,000 victims works to an average of Ksh. 1m per victim.
This prices violations at 2% of what the 3 judge bench price Gachagua’s 50m violation.
It would be good to see how each party arrived at their violation valuation.

Just this Friday, COA restated the trite law that:
1. A trial court is not bound to grant an adjournment unless there's a proper basis.
2. The right to be heard does not avail a litigant who, by his own conduct, declines to participate in the proceedings or seeks to delay them.
