Imagine hiring a chef to taste every meal for you.
You’ll know which food is good.
But you’ll never develop a palate.
That’s how most people use AI.
They outsource the thinking and wonder why they don’t develop intuition
🤖If a robot does all your pushups, you don’t get stronger💪🏻
Same with AI.
Having AI analyze 500 titles doesn’t build your taste.
Studying them yourself does.
AI is a shortcut to answers.
Not a shortcut to judgment
i don’t click on finance videos because i love finance
i click because i'm worried.
Worried i'm behind.
Worried i will make a mistake.
Worried i will run out of money.
The best finance creators speak to the worry, not the topic
A viewer isn’t asking:
“Is this educational?”
They’re asking:
“Why should I care?”
The best finance creators answer that question before they teach anything.
Psychology first🧠
Information second📝
One realization from studying finance channels:
Good views ≠ lots of motion graphics.
I watched a video titled:
“We Lost £183,000… Then Made £211,000 (Same Portfolio)”
It was mostly a talking head.
Very few visuals.
Very little animation.
Yet it got thousands of views
Why?
Because viewers weren’t clicking for the animations.
They were clicking because they wanted the answer to one question:
“How is that possible?”
That’s a strong idea.
A lot of creators think:
“My videos need better editing.”
Sometimes they do.
But often the bigger bottleneck is:
- Weak topics
- Weak packaging
- Weak curiosity
A mediocre edit can survive a great idea.
A great edit can’t save a boring one.
Imagine someone has a broken leg💔🦵
You don’t say:
“Here’s a better haircut.”
Same thing here
If a finance creator is getting:
Consistent uploads
Good information
The first question is:
Why isn’t anyone clicking?
Not:
How can I add more motion graphics?
Most video editors study transitions.
I study why a retirement video gets 2M views.
I recently analyzed 50 top-performing videos from one of the biggest retirement finance channels.
What I found:
My role isn’t just editing.
I help financial creators:
✓ Identify high-demand topics
✓ Reverse-engineer successful competitors
✓ Improve titles & packaging
✓ Increase retention through strategic editing
✓ Turn views into qualified leads
The goal isn’t a better video.
The goal is more viewers, more trust, and more clients.
If you’re a financial creator, advisor, or wealth manager looking to grow through YouTube, let’s talk
One thing I’ve noticed studying 32 finance channels:
Not every video needs more visuals.
If you’re explaining compound interest, asset allocation, or tax strategies, visuals can make complex ideas easier to understand.
But if the video is built around a strong story:
“We lost £183k… then made £211k.”
- the story is doing most of the work
the best finance videos don’t use visuals everywhere
They use them where clarity is needed most.
