two and a half weeks since the last time I spent the night at home. glad I have friends to stay with, but this is driving me crazy. my apartment doesn't have floors or carpets right now, and there is a hole through my bathroom wall that goes all the way outside

What does it mean if computer A has really bad packet loss over wifi both when using its on-board wifi adapter OR a well-reviewed USB wifi adapter, but a laptop right next to that computer gets perfect signal?
My working theory is that my desktop machine is just cursed

this computer _does_ work fine with an ethernet cable plugged in, so I guess I can just route it through my laptop
