From now on, I own my data. No more paying for cloud storage. No Google Drive. No iCloud. No subscriptions for password managers. No extra money just to stream my own media. I built my own private cloud for me and my family accessible from anywhere in the world. ✔ TrueNAS ZFS ✔ Self-hosted apps (Nextcloud, Immich, Vaultwarden, Jellyfin) ✔ Secure remote access ✔ Local-first networking (fast inside, secure outside) ✔ Full control, no middlemen ✔ And no more ads for me It wasn’t easy. Things broke. A lot. But I fixed everything. And now, it’s mine.

Buying RAM never felt this stressful. I rarely build new PCs, but this time I’m putting together a NAS for my own use. I usually source parts from Alibaba, AliExpress, or those sketchy Chinese marketplaces. Buying everything from one or two sellers usually gets me better deals and saves on shipping. This time, RAM surprised me. Yesterday DDR4 sticks were about ~30% more expensive online Chinese market online than at local market, and that didn’t even include shipping. For the first time, buying rams locally actually made more sense. One trusted seller told me, “If you’re getting a good price today, buy it now. RAM prices are about to go even higher.” It kind of checks out. DDR5 is still expensive, so people are going for DDR4 for their builds. That’s indirectly pushing DDR4 demand and prices up. The lowest price I got from a dealer I trust was $128 per stick. Later, my friend and I went RAM hunting across local shops, and I managed to get them for about ~$96 per stick. At that point, it honestly felt like I was hunting for a rare piece of jewelry instead of memory sticks. And I really don’t want to know what GPU buyers are dealing with in this economy.

“In Android, you are the admin.” Okay. Uninstall YouTube. No root. No hacks. Tell me how.

Shipped a small React Native native module I built for my own projects: @cleanuidev/react-native-scanner Main reason: existing solutions didn’t support target-area scanning properly. It’s in beta, currently I am using it in my own codebase, and still evolving. Putting it out there for other RN devs who might need the same thing. 🔗 npmjs.com/package/@cleanuide…

I just recovered 104.24 GB with a single command. Yarn cache had been living rent-free for way too long. rm -rf /Users/<username>/Library/Caches/Yarn/v6/ I am unstoppable now.

Hey @PUMA, noticed the Velocity Nitro 3 costs ₹2,600 (~28%) less for women. Just wondering are male knees paying a patriarchy tax? 😅 Asking for equality… and for my wallet. 🦵🦵💸

New gun in the stack. A much-needed upgrade from the M1 Air. I’m loving the performance and the faster build times. This is my first time going with a Mac Mini. Honestly, I never thought I’d do it, but it made sense since my M1 Air still works great for non-dev tasks. I didn’t want to spend more, and I was on a budget. Now I just need a UPS, since it doesn’t come with a battery.

This will smack every SaaS companies, SaaS founders, etsy seller and digital nomad straight in the API. Trump just opened a new front: digital intellectual property is now fair game for tariffs, starting with movies. And guess what? The rest of the world just got the greenlight to clap back. Reciprocal tariffs on U.S. SaaS? Absolutely, that can happen. Many governments around the world are already frustrated with American software giants monopolizing their markets and they can't put tarrif on them Don’t be surprised when global governments start slapping digital taxes like they’re handing out Diwali sweets. India, China, European countries can put tarriff on Microsoft, Apple, Adobe and it will favour their local software companies U.S. SaaS companies have been milking global markets for decades, and soon they might've to come back with a lawyer and a tariff chart. If you’re thinking, "Okay but how does this affect me?" Let’s break it down. A lot founders I know registered in Dubai or Singapore to optimize for taxes. But now, to sell in the U.S., they will face a tariff wall ( I can already predict payment processors like stripe will be required to collect tarriff for U.S government) So the obvious option? Register your SaaS in the U.S. But then other countries might hit your U.S.-based SaaS with their own digital taxes. Congrats, now you’re paying on both sides. Freelancers? You’re not safe either. If Trump can slap 100 percent tax on a movies made outside, it’s not hard to imagine Upwork gigs from outside the U.S. will be on tarriff radar This won’t just stop at SaaS. It’ll hit: Digital prints eBooks Online courses Even Notion templates So yeah... maybe pray Trump eats TACO 🌮 again instead of starting digital trade wars.
