Dario Amodei was asked if businesses, policymakers and governments are doing enough to prepare for AI. His answer: "No." This is one of the clearest warnings from the person building one of the most important AI labs in the world. What he is saying is simple: - AI capability is moving on a stable exponential curve - public opinion keeps swinging between panic and hype - companies are deploying before they have real assurance systems - policymakers are reacting after the fact - most teams still treat evals like a compliance checkbox If you are putting AI into production, the question is not "can it answer the prompt?" The question is whether you can test it, monitor it and govern it before it creates risk at scale. Full article below. If you're building with agents, don't just read it. Star/fork TrustModel and use it as an open-source eval governance layer before giving AI real permissions: github.com/karlmehta/trustmo…

The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

Today I'm publishing a new essay, Policy on the AI Exponential. AI is progressing extremely fast—much faster than the policy process was built to handle. The essay lays out where I think the technology is now, and the action needed to close the gap: darioamodei.com/post/policy-…

Anthropic does not wait for Claude to fail in the wild. They try to break it first. Adversarial prompts. Misuse scenarios. Autonomy stress tests. Deception probes. Tool-use failures. Most companies shipping AI agents do the opposite. They run one impressive demo. Then give the agent access to customers, files, tickets, CRM, code, or APIs. That is the entire market gap. The frontier labs have red teams. Most builders have vibes. TrustModel turns that lesson into infrastructure developers can actually use: Eval before release. Monitor drift in production. Govern outputs against policy packs mapped to EU AI Act, NIST, ISO, NYC LL144, and OWASP. Check out the repo: github.com/karlmehta/trustmo…

Air Canada tried to argue its chatbot was separate from the company. The tribunal did not buy it. Your AI output is your company speaking. That is why agents need evidence, monitoring, and governance before customers see them.

Google's CEO: "Any solo developer with Claude can now outcompete a 10-person Google team." He's right. But 90% of developers using Claude daily are starting from zero every session. No stack context. No memory. No behavior rules. Claude is smart. But without a proper system prompt it's like hiring a genius with amnesia. Every. Single. Session. $975 wasted per developer every week on context rebuilding alone. The fix is not a better model. It is these copy-paste system prompts that turn Claude into an expert before you type your first message. Full list below ↓ Bookmark this. Use it today.

My husband Abraham was diagnosed with a very rare sacral chordoma. The surgery to remove bone and surrounding tissue lasted almost seven hours and was successful. He had a rough night and is in a lot of pain but is finally home resting. Now recovery begins. We’re so grateful for the outpouring of prayers and kind messages from all of you. Our hearts are full. ❤️

Anthropic showed 60 Minutes what serious AI companies do before release: red-team the model, stress-test failures, and measure dangerous behavior. Most companies don't have Anthropic's safety lab. Karl's article is about making that discipline reachable for developers.

Our new Gemma 4 12B model hits a sweet spot between size performance: it can run locally on a laptop, while enabling powerful multi-step reasoning and agentic workflows. Can’t wait to see what the community does with this one!
Celebrating the milestone of a massive 150 million downloads of Gemma 4 with the release of the new Gemma 4 12B model! It's incredibly powerful for such a small model and it’s tiny enough to run locally on a laptop with just 16GB VRAM. Apache 2.0 license - happy building!

Geoffrey Hinton says we're probably not slowing AI down. So the real question is: can we make it safe before it reaches customers, employees, and workflows? Karl's article below turns the warning into the builder question: what did you test before you shipped?
