Gave a guest lecture today in Tommaso Bondi's class at Cornell Tech on political digital analytics and the work we did this cycle @PredictWise. I couldn't resist moralizing a bit at the end, on actually working toward causes you care about.

Excited to share a new blog post on large scale experimentation; how should we think about opportunity costs when there are many potential experiments to run. Also, hope you enjoy the awesome animation built by @brianedcoffey👌
Use data to inform your decisions... but don't squander precious sample! See how you do in our interactive game. The latest blog post from the Stitch Fix Algorithm's team. Large scale experimentation, by @spschmit w graphics by @brianedcoffey multithreaded.stitchfix.com/…

The original coronavirus-testing crisis was defined by bureaucratic red tape and a blundering White House. But now a new crisis is upon us, and this time private labs are the problem, @alexismadrigal and @yayitsrob report: on.theatln.tc/ThV2nRW

Restarting our economy will require one thing above all else – testing. Testing to show who's currently infected. Testing to show who's had the virus and is immune. Social distancing won't end because it's Easter. It'll end when we have sufficient testing. Here’s how we do it.

Really happy to see this step being taken by Bay Area counties! sccgov.org/sites/phd/news/Pa… @GavinNewsom let's make the same happen CA wide!

Thread: @GavinNewsom @COVID19Tracking Trying to make sense of California state COVID testing capacity. Cuomo claims that NY State is testing at 2X the levels of WA and CA. In CA, we don't report all negative test results; /1

We don't make clear whether we are mandating reporting from all labs (public and private); counties are not uniform in reporting hospitalization data, which limits our visibility into current state of the crisis; little demographic information is provided on positive tests. /2

It's of course a national disaster that testing ramped up so slowly. Let's not make it worse by not understanding our current state of testing! Please mandate complete reporting at the county level and by all public and private labs, so we know what's happening. /end
