ZenJournal v5 is finally on the App Store. It has been 8 years in the making — including countless failed attempts to rewrite it with the latest SwiftUI, and the unforgivable indie-dev sin of making yet another journaling app. But this is the one app I keep returning to.

trying apple search ads for the first time... what's your max CPT bid, IPA / sub cost, daily budget? Exact match? geo?

Just tried Clearly and Cogito again, clearly is just single file editing, Cogito has obsidian like project mode, however both have no live preview like typora or obsidian, probably because textkit2 was too hard to prompt? hopefully fable will solve this.

what's the best essay writing UX? every time i write/generate a long newsletter or reddit post, i'm tempted to ask this question. I need something native mac, file based (so it is compatible with your agent out of the box), wysiwyg, maybe markdown with live preview? dicating and clipboard friendly (like you can dictate and grab multiple screenshots in one go)....

maybe at some point i will ship my TouchEdit code and make it compatible with mac, although it's not designed for a desktop writing experience....

Just shipped, for the OCDs and neat freaks, control the tags and notes right after capturing in @doublememoryapp

Also the 100x (theoretical) speed increase with our custom search index in app.

I don’t even need it for another few months on my Mac but this is a great deal and lovely crafted indie app. It’s like buying an extra disk for $9.

Trying out cloudflare email sending now. the 45c per 1k with 1000 daily limit pricing makes more sense after free 3000 sends per month, time to say goodby to Resend for now, which is 100 daily limit for free tier then $20 for the monthly sub.

just submitted the latest version of doublememory with sqlite powered FTS search to app store, which is 100x faster when measured against our old spotlight based index. i wish i can go directly to ios27 new spotlight index, but that obviously won't work with a production app.... after this version, we will go ios/macOS 26 minimum, new exciting immersive UIs to come, especially the mac app.

Tbh I’ve given up since I launched doublememory there and Reddit at the same time. Much more real engagement from Reddit despite getting similar upvotes. The biggest issue I think is PH it’s not multi turns, you launch and you are gone, the community is not sticky enough to come back. Votes are also mostly passers by. There should be better alternatives. But none of these PH clones that ask you to pay to skip lines, these are even worse.

Anyone looking for a screenshot organizer? Apple Intelligence powered auto tagging. No account, all offline, no VC, default alive. No fancy icons tho.

Introducing Pool That little icon got us $2M in funding, 15M organic views, and now you can all finally discover what's behind it. Pool is "just an app for your screenshots." But it holds a few bets we decided to build a whole company on. We believe the context of the future is your camera roll. Understanding someone's taste, the texture of their life, can unlock things we can't even comprehend yet. We believe the future of interfaces will feel the way games make us feel, computing as a beautiful mix of art and technology. Now live on the App Store.

Disclaimer: we are not really a “screenshot organizer”, we are more like a universal memory app, starting with bookmarks, text snippets and images. I was just half joking. We can organize screenshot, but no batch importing features that auto import everything, we are quite selective in what we add into your memory. For that I’d recommend Pool or other apps.

Everyone making their own memory app. 😆 @doublememoryapp also ships with a build-in browser tho.
I'm ridiculously excited to finally ship this. GatherOS now automatically syncs your X bookmarks. No more losing great ideas to an endless feed. Try it for free now: gatheros.co

My first reaction was this is a feature not an app, but with that killer logo, it’s impossible to not install. Also made an app that can organize screenshots(and bookmarks) on device with Apple Intelligence with @doublememoryapp

We don’t have a $2M icon but we also don’t ask you for an account. We will never “incredible journey” you as it’s a local app. But welcome to the $200 MRR TAM of screenshot organization apps. 😆

Every time I see an ai generated post on Reddit: “genuinely trying to be honest… not trying to…” Do they all use the same gpt3 model to generate these?

was trying to download a teleprompter app, but somehow mac app store doesn't take my touchid so i asked codex to create one, and 20 mins later, i have a working teleprompt menu bar app that prompts from the notch that uses apple speech analyzer to auto scroll as i speak.... not sure how i should think about this as an indie dev....
