《Timefun Weekly Recap 09/25》
This is, in my opinion, the most significant weekly recap from the
@moolah team so far. It marks a major product iteration and a transformative shift for
@0xKawz, with a significant change in direction. Let’s dive into the details of what’s changing.
1️⃣ What is Timefun V2?
When planning the mobile app, the team mentioned that V2 would be the official version. Kawz realized the project lacked a core product. Previously, Timefun was too niche—1:1 calls, for instance, couldn’t scale, weren’t discoverable by other users, and lacked expansiveness.
The biggest shift in V2 is introducing a core product that showcases creators’ value to a broad audience in a one-to-many format. To put it simply: you come to X to read through posts, TikTok for short videos—every platform has a core function.
2️⃣ What Features Stay? What’s New?
Private messaging, group chats, and auctions remain, but 1:1 calls are removed. These retained features won’t be the main focus, though. Just like on X, you can DM someone, but you’re mainly there to read posts. These features will now be free, unlike the previous paid messaging model, and accessible to the top 100 holders of a creator’s token.
Many creators struggle with pricing their services—group chat thresholds as low as 1 minute or more expensive than private messages were unscientific. In V2, a formula automates this: creators tokenize, and everything is streamlined.
Creator tokens remain unchanged—no migration needed. What’s cool is that holding a certain amount of a creator’s tokens unlocks exclusive perks, which will be a key feature moving forward.
Auctions will now use USDC as the base currency. Previously, using creator tokens led to sell pressure when tokens were dumped back into the market after a service, with creators receiving USDC.
Now, part of the revenue goes to creators, and the team buys back and burns creator tokens, addressing slippage issues. Slippage meant users couldn’t buy the exact token amount needed without going back to the market, which was inefficient. This USDC shift is a great move!
3️⃣ V2 Timeline
This recap was two weeks ago, so V2 launch less than a month. The team is refining the UI/UX and product, collaborating with top creators to ensure they’ll adopt it.
@blknoiz06 Ansem has confirmed participation in V2 via group chat.
There’s also an incentive program for creators. Before the livestream, I asked Kawz about creators buying their own tokens. He said the team was working on a plan, and now it’s here—a milestone-based incentive program.
Unlike Pumpfun’s direct buying, 10–15% of creator tokens will be locked, with a clear dashboard showing creators how many tokens they can earn by staying active for 30–90 days or completing tasks.
This encourages creator engagement, and Kawz noted the core product will integrate well with this milestone program. Creators earn from the product, their token price rises, and they get additional token rewards—essentially double the earnings.
4️⃣ V2 Conclusion
The V2 product is expected to attract a wave of new users. It aims to unlock creators’ expertise and value, scaling it to serve hundreds or thousands of users—something current Timefun can’t do.
Take
@toly, for example. Current Timefun can’t leverage his expertise effectively; private messages and calls are 1:1, and auctions only reach bidders, not a wider audience. V2 changes this with a one-to-many, scalable approach.
Convincing busy creators to reply to private messages for profit is tough—they don’t have the time. The new product will be free and scalable, with exclusive perks for those holding creator tokens. The entire product is geared toward benefits and scalability.
