Yes, jellyfish DJ’d the “opening set” at #GoogleIO this year. 🪼Let’s dive in 🌊 We partnered with Monterey Bay Aquarium to build a generative music experiment where moon jellies, live-streamed from their home at the aquarium, controlled music made by Lyria 3. The jellies were tracked by a lightweight object detection model running on a tiny Coral NPU housed on a Synaptics Coralboard — the same type of object detection model used to power conservation efforts in the Great Barrier Reef. The Coralboard sent the jellies’ coordinates to our music generation engine. Each quadrant of the screen represented an instrument — drums, bass, chords or melody. The number of jellies in each quadrant determined the weighting of those sounds, translating their movements into music.

Stoked that my little jellyfish ambient music thing opened google I/o, but somehow more proud that my local edge version end up a demo project for the new coral boards. You can put it in your house and it plays ambient music based on the positions of jellyfish in a livestream.
Introducing the newest Coral board, for efficient, on-device AI! Check out the demos in the video: - On-board speech translation - Natural language controlling hardware - Vision & sound generating music

The rate of AI innovation is like nothing Marc Andreessen thought he’d see in his lifetime. Australia is making major investments in compute, renewable energy and a smart regulatory framework to support the next wave. Great discussion with you, Marc.

Nicotine (administered through a reusable vaporising device) provides the alertness, the crystalline mental acuity. Beer yings the yang, so to speak, placing you in a den of kindly feeling. But the picture isn’t complete before the Thumb navigates to a most amusing YouTube Short

The boys in critical minerals group chat are salivating for the ASX to open. I haven’t felt this energy since during the COVID lock downs when they announced they were opening the pubs

Wow you’re saying you’ve come up with a brand new methodology that makes Red Rooster Line Thought obsolete, and this new technique shows that western Sydney could start at any one of 3 points identified by The Line? No need to reinvent the wheel cuz

Full day of back-to-back meetings in Sydney. But I get to take in the sights with this amazing view from the hotel room!

Because of you lawyers I have to explain to my 4 year old why there is this writing on every single magnet - he thought it was maybe their names. Insane how in society we have just accepted this pointless legalese vandalising every facet of our lives. I need a drink.

A guy on reddit built something I’ve wanted for ages - scraping public data and putting together a leaderboard of real estate agents who appear to serially get prices wrong - link in next post

I've heard some intel on what the future royalty model looks like, and you're probably not going to like it. Thank you Capital Brief for letting me go off in your ideas section. 1/2

Made another post on SubStack. Where does the money in AI accrue, and how can Australia get a piece of the pie. (Spoiler: not by building fabs)
