A decade ago I was very fortunate to explore the edge of real-time 3D computer vision, with a new class of consumer depth camera, GPUs becoming easy to program, and an aim to build 3D reconstruction and SLAM technologies that enable AR/MR. Thank you

Thank you for the Lasting Impact Award at this years @ACMUIST - it is a real privilege. It was brilliant seeing the KinectFusion co-authors at the plenary. What an incredible period 2010/11 was!

ICCV'11 was already so memorable with Steve and @AjdDavison and the @imperialcollege Robot Vision Lab - this is the icing on the cake for a super fun and productive period of research, inspired by real-time SLAM systems (and demos) of brilliant researchers before us. Thank you!

Facebook just did a giant Turing Test with the entire audience to see if we could tell the difference between an original video vs a 3D reconstruction.
It was REALLY hard to tell the difference
Quite a stunning demo.
The shadows on the left was the clue to me it was the real 1.
