75% of the way towards the goal ๐
Lots of growth over the last 2 months ( 10K in the last month alone!)
I did a ton of experiments but here were the key learnings:
- people are definitely fatigued with AI content (esp content thats over the top)
- best performing content was my general app update stuff (very surprised) but packaged in a very "average" way
- people really like more technical content (did one very technical video and it performed so much better than i thought). but it was also by far the hardest video ive made bc that balance of technical digestible is so hard haha
Most interesting experiment:
I put out a video to figure out the real size of my "core audience" (the people who would watch ANYTHING i put out, even if it deviated from the channels normal video).
Youtube will purposely supress this video because it deviates so hard (most non-core audience will see it and not click, so youtube will only start showing it to people who are very likely to click it which would be my "core audience")
I made the packaging very specific to me (literally called it 48 hours in SF) and it hit around ~11K in 48 hours
this signals to me that on 75K subs, 11-15K are realistically my core audience numbers (i predicted it would be around here)
I plan on doing another video like this maybe around 100K to get a good pulse of this number, but if you see me doing any out of the ordinary content thats why :)
I think i can hit 100K in the next 3 months at this rate
will be an absolute grind though trying to do 1 video per week AND will be crazy hard bc im starting to focus on short form too ๐ฎโ๐จ
