playing super mario world now
I'm only on world 2 of Super Mario Bros 3 and this is already looking like it's going to be a new favourite 2D platformer of mine.
It controls like sex when compared to that 2 hour torture session that I just went through while playing the OG Super Mario Bros

anytime a remake of a game gets announced it doesn't make me think "oh boy I can't wait to finally try this game now that it has better graphics" it just makes me think "huh I should try the original I've heard good things about it"

if i watched a film with my eyes closed and then said i was a fan of the film because "i still experienced most of what it had to offer, just without the video" i would rightfully be called a knuckle dragging neanderthal so idk why people treat games any different

i'm not even speaking on this from a privileged standpoint because up until recently I couldn't afford more than 2 or 3 pre-owned games a year, so I spent most of my life watching YouTube playthroughs and emulating n64 games on my phone to get my gaming fix
