Wishing Sandra, Matthijs and their entire family all the best as their baby daughter joins them this summer!
IMMEDIATE RELEASE This summer, my husband and I are excited to welcome our daughter into the world. As the House rises for the summer, I will be taking some time to be with my growing family. In the meantime, my constituency office team will continue to assist residents of Newmarket–Aurora with any federal matters. Thank you for your continued support and well wishes as we prepare for this very special chapter in our lives.

We remember the brave Canadians, who together with our Allies from the United States, the United Kingdom and other countries, defeated the Nazis on the beaches of Normandy.
On the 82nd anniversary of D-Day, we remember the extraordinary courage of the young Canadians who stormed the beaches of Normandy. Facing overwhelming odds, they helped liberate a continent from Nazi tyranny and changed the course of history. Today, we honour their sacrifice and the enduring legacy they left behind. May we never take for granted the freedoms they secured at such a terrible cost.

Today, our brothers and sisters in the Muslim community gathered at the future site of the new Sabeel Muslim Youth and Community Centre in Beechville. With Halifax Regional Municipality having issued a development permit, this is an important milestone for this wonderful new addition to our community. Congrats to the Sabeel board, advisory council and other supporters.

Wishing @RtHonJoeClark a happy 87th birthday. A former Prime Minister of Canada, Joe Clark was always a good friend to Nova Scotia, briefly representing the province as MP for Kings-Hants.

We need a government that can fix the ongoing economic damage caused by Mark Carney’s Liberals.
It's not just among G7 countries. Mark Carney has made Canada the only G20 country in recession. Sign to reverse Carney's full-blown Liberal recession: conservative.ca/cpc/reverse-…

Great, factual analysis from @davidakin: “there can be no excuse for Carney’s rate of delinquency…. A prime minister who puts so little value in participating in the House of Commons weakens the institution and, in making that institution less vital, weakens Canadian democracy.”
ANALYSIS: In skipping so many question periods, Carney dodges accountability, @davidakin reports globalnews.ca/news/11876233/… Find out more at nationalnewswatch.com

“Rob, I want to talk to John.” That’s how many a conversation started for me with Kevin Adshade - he of the New Glasgow Evening News, me of Premier John Hamm’s office. It was wonderful to run into Kevin on the job, this time for the Pictou Advocate, last November. He has left us too soon. Deepest sympathies to Kevin’s family and friends. pictouadvocate.com/news/well…

One of the biggest myths about the Conservatives is that all they do is criticize, when in fact, Conservatives have been proposing positive ideas for change for years. Here’s hoping MPs and ultimately Senators pass C-240 into law to help people and keep our streets safe.
My Private Members Bill, Bill C-240 passed the House of Commons at second reading unanimously. Thank you to all MPs for supporting this important piece of legislation.

Prime Minister, You promised the "fastest-growing economy in the G7." You delivered the only recession in the G7. Conservatives are calling for an emergency House debate now to reverse the damage you’ve done.
