Prince Alfred was born #OTD in 1844. Queen Victoria's 2nd son, Prince Alfred, had an enquiring mind & reportedly taught himself the violin when he was a child. William Ross’s paintings of the royal children were made as gifts from Prince Albert to Queen Victoria.
Over 30 drawings will be on display for the first time as part of Drawing the Italian Renaissance this autumn.
