Shout Out from SWBH’s Heartbeat magazine. Community heart failure team now working 7 days and reduce admissions several times a week. Saves money and best for patients.
A 2020 highlight was our home-based rehab for heart failure study (REACH-HF) winning a BMJ award. Despite my involvement in the design and SWBH patients forming 25% of the evidence base, we have yet to implement it locally - a resolution for 2021 to do so. thebmjawards.bmj.com/showcas…
Well done! Does of course equally apply to Jacqui herself, as well as Jo and the rest of the team. They’ve done great work keeping heart failure patients home during the pandemic. We need the redeployed team members back now to prevent burnout.

At the BSH meeting in London. The I NEED HELP score is a very practical tool we can use on the wards and clinics to consider transplants and VADs - as well as palliative care for those not suitable for either of these. #BSH2019#AdvancedHeartFailure
Telemedicine and specialist nursing can save lives and reduce hospitalisation in heart failure. This study was done in Germany but I’m sure we can learn lessons. Computer literacy may be a problem locally!
At British Society for Heart Failure meeting in Westminster with some of the team. I’m putting ideas from the NCEPOD heart failure deaths report forward for our Quality Plan. #BSH
Back in college for 35 year reunion . I’m technically allowed to walk across the lawn as a Senior Member, but it would encourage the tourists! #Cambridge#King’s
Darren Moore’s appointment fantastic on all kinds of levels. So much more fun to see this than grinding out a 0-0 in the Premier League (which we will ironically be hoping for next season!)
youtu.be/6V0adyzTcr0 Video of our first single Waiting For The Summer that was also BBC Introducing Track of The Week. Thanks @DJAndrewMarston @TammyGooding and @bbchw!
London today in search of consensus and compromise around Midland Met solution. Medical staff committee last night underscored urgency and risks of stretching acute care across two sites beyond 2019. #twothirdsbuilt#2020vision
