Agreed! However, this truth is complicated by the fact that inequities between children have been exacerbated by the pandemic. That has to be considered and addressed.

Heard someone today say, “The kids are going to be so behind when they get back.”
But, we recognize that the only thing they’re behind is our own perception of where they should be, right?
The content we assign to grade levels isn’t inherent to age. We did that. We can undo it.

For many kids, school is not about learning; it’s about connecting. They may miss your lessons... but I guarantee you they miss their friends. I’m grateful for teachers everywhere who are working to keep the connections going. The students need it.
