Something that has become very common across the NFT space is Collector Badges/Emblems.
@cabralcf_ & I explored this back in October 2024.
Below are some of the examples we wanted to introduce to
@SpaceRidersXYZ long ago.
It was something we never actually released, and they've been sitting in our archives for almost 2 years now.
We originally took inspiration from
@Azuki and their collector system, which, at the time, we thought was very well done (and still do).
Since then, we've seen a cohort of teams bring similar systems into their ecosystems as part of the broader collector experience, which is awesome.
All that being said, we're going to be building heavily on these ideas moving forward as we continue developing the new Spaceport (our portal for holders).
This will range from holder badges, to trait badges, to time-held badges, milestone badges, and more. From the very beginning, we've had a Discord role system in place that the community has always bonded over, representing how many assets you held:
Space Riders:
🐳 Whale = 8 Riders
🐙 Kraken = 20 Riders
🦈 Megalodon = 50 Riders
👑 Space Lord = 100 Riders
Visions of the Void:
👁️ Visionary = 4 Visions
🔎 Explorer = 10 Visions
🔮 Oracle = 25 Visions
📖 Prophet = 50 Visions
Space Riders has a supply of 8,888, and Visions of the Void has a supply of 4,444. This was done intentionally, and so were the Discord role requirements.
This is where we originally started and continued with collection-specific badges (as seen below). Since then, we've had countless new ideas and are now able to bring much more to the table, including trait-based badges, milestone badges, achievement badges, and more.
I've always loved the idea of badges and emblems. Much like collecting Gym Badges in Pokémon, there's something incredibly satisfying and nostalgic about them.
We know how to put our own spin on the things we build. While the concepts below are a little dated, and I'm sure Cab will rework them, they gave us a great foundation to build from. Looking back, I'm glad we started exploring these ideas when we did.
So, this isn't a trend we're hopping on because it's convenient. It's something we've had in the archives for quite a while, but never had the right place to showcase properly.
The new Spaceport changes that, and we're very excited to give collectors an even bigger edge within the
@SpaceRidersXYZ ecosystem.
More to come.
Space Riders.
