Major Doug Zembiec, a native of the Kealakekua was a Force Recon Marine killed serving in Ground Branch on 11 May 2007 on a direct action raid with Iraqi SOF counterparts.

With an extremely heavy heart we report the passing of our teammate Joseph “Joe Joe” Forrest Paschall, Jr. on December 28th 2024.
Joe Joe was a Team Leader with 2nd Recon Bn and his passing is a tremendous loss to our Nation, the Marine Corps and the Recon community.
0321 West is set at Ballast Point Miramar on 3/21/25! This annual event brings Recon men and family members together each year to celebrate brotherhood and heritage.
This event will raise funds for the MRF’s 2025 Gold Star Family Retreat that will take place 24 Apr - 3 May 2025
Marine Corps Special Operations Command Detachment One (MCSOCOM DET-1) was the first unit level “proof of concept” that added Marine Corps units to USSOCOM.
This Detachment is the actual lineage to today’s MARSOC and the current Marine Raider Battalions.
Major General Wayne Rollings served with distinction in 1st Force Reconnaissance Company during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Navy Cross.
He later Commanded 2nd Force Reconnaissance Company.
He also set the World Record for consecutive sit-ups (40,000) in 1981.
Today we remember our friend Angus Mitchell, who passed away one year ago at his home in Kahala Hawaii.
Angus has been a true friend and one of the largest supporters of the Reconnaissance community and the Reconnaissance Foundation over the past six years.
Today we remember our brother CPO Kevin Callahan, a legend in the Reconnaissance community who lost his life three years ago today surfing the winter big waves on the North Shore of Oahu…the most fitting way for him to go.
