It is awful how ABC/Green/Independent Trustees have made policy changes that actively stifle public participation at our school board - the decisions we make have major impacts on the lives of kids and school staff, they need to be informed by the people who are most impacted.

For some reason I can't fathom, the @VSB39 no longer allows people to take photos or recordings during its public meetings. Which is bizarre. The chair just harassed a high school student for taking a photo. Outrageous and likely legally unenforceable.

Strong reminder to landlords and property managers: it's illegal to coordinate rental prices,lease terms, or housing supply w/competitors to inflate prices. Price-fixing, colluding on lease terms are serious offences, can result in prison sentences and substantial fines.

The VSB blocked Jennifer Reddy’s motion to support open school field access tonight. Last month they rushed a motion to reprimand parents for criticizing the Board. Just like this chained fence, we are being shut out.

As rent in Vancouver continues to be out of reach for too many, tenant and housing advocates have spoken out in favour of @lucyincanada's motion to return the Renter Office.

TRAC assists hundreds of renters each year with disputes at the Residential Tenancy Branch, but we are limited in how we can help renters enforce rules specific to Vancouver. TRAC would welcome a new Tenant Advocacy Office that could function as an accessible first point of contact for renters and renter-serving organizations, advise on and coordinate efforts between City departments, and work towards the ultimate goal of improved landlord compliance with Tenant Relocation and Protection Policies and other renter-related City rules."
