This Memorial Day, we honor the service and sacrifice of the brave Americans who gave their lives for this great nation.
We will never forget their courage, their devotion, and the freedoms they fought to defend.
The biggest threat AI poses to cybersecurity isn't the vulnerability apocalypse. It's that it’s now trivially cheap for security vendors to build products that look like they work but don’t.
The real threat actors are the unethical vendors we met along the way.
It's 2026, and highly educated, very intelligent, experienced cybersecurity professionals are still requesting penetration testing conducted within a 2-hour window each evening, highest risk category (potential loss to human life), and not whitelisting.
I wish this were an infrequent occurrence, but ChatGPT lies EVERY time now. And Grok does so ~80% of the time.
Is it just me, or has AI gone from bad, to worse, to unusable in just the last year?
Thrilled to share a proud family moment! Last week, our son Riley graduated from Air Force BMT at Lackland AFB and is now officially an Airman.
Aim High. Fly, Fight, Win.

I will be replacing my @Ecobee thermostat.
I reported an open cloud bucket to them - 7,060 files exposed. Nothing sensitive yet, so I rated it a Medium risk. They said they do not plan to fix it. It's still wide open.
But hey, maybe they know better than the entire industry?
Here's what actual experts say:
OWASP: Ensure cloud storage is not publicly accessible or listable. Disable anonymous listing.
CIS Benchmarks: Ensure that storage buckets are not publicly or anonymously accessible, including object listing.
AWS: Prevent anonymous listing.
GCP: Avoid granting roles like Storage Object Viewer to allUsers/allAuthenticatedUsers.
This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the courageous men and women who gave their lives for our nation’s freedom.
"The cost of freedom is always high, but Americans have always paid it." – John F. Kennedy
Their selfless sacrifice reminds us to cherish the liberties we hold dear and to live with purpose, gratitude, and unity. Let’s keep their families in our hearts and strive to uphold the values they fought for.
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." – Matthew 5:9

Had a fantastic time presenting, Breaching a Network with Risk-Accepted Vulnerabilities, at the TEEX Cyber Readiness Summit this afternoon! Great discussions with an engaged audience. #CyberSecurity#TEEXSummit
As promised, here are the slides: penconsultants.com/PDFs/Pres…
Great first day at TEEX Cyber Readiness Summit! Enjoyed meeting and connecting with others in the industry.
Visitors were able to interact with our live hacking demonstrations, Cybersecurity Trivia, and win prizes.
Up tomorrow at 4pm, our Founder and CEO, Robert Neel, will be presenting, “Breaching a Network with Risk-Accepted Vulnerabilities”. Come see real-world examples of how “acceptable” risks can still lead to total compromise - and what to do about it.
